Broccoli Manchurian

My son hates Broccoli. Broccoli is rich in Vitamins and nutrients so I try various ways to make it tasty.This recipe is so tasty that my son loves it and easy way to make kids eat broccoli



Ingredients to make Broccoli Manchurian

  • 3 tbsp corn flour
  • 3tbsp Maida
  • 1/2 medium sized broccoli
  • Salt and pepper to taste
  • 1/4tsp red chilli powder
  • 1tsp Grated ginger
  • Water as required and oil for frying
  • For gravy
  • 1 onion cubed
  • 1/2 cup capsicum and red yellow bell pepper cubed
  • 1 tbsp oil
  • 1/2 tsp Grated Ginger
  • For Sauce
  • 1.5 tbsp Soy sauce
  • 1tbsp tomato chilli sauce
  • 1 tsp green chilli sauce
  • 1/2 tsp red chilli sauce
  • 1.5tbsp corn flour
  • 1tsp vinegar
  • Salt and pepper to taste
  • spring onions for garnish

Method:

  1. In a bowl mix flour salt pepper ginger red chilli powder, add water to form batter neither too thick or runny. Add broccoli to this batter. Make sure broccoli is coated well
  2. Heat oil in a wok. Fry broccoli until golden brown.keep it on absorbent towel. Let excess oil be absorbed. Keep it aside
  3. Heat oil in a pan, add ginger onion and capscicum bell pepper. Sauté it for few minutes. Add little salt and pepper.mix well. Meanwhile prepare sauces mentioned under sauce list including corn flour and vinegar in a separate bowl.You can always adjust the sauces as per taste Now add sauces to the vegetable in the pan. Add 1 cup water. Mix well. You can always adjust water depending on gravy thickness you wish
  4. Cover and let it simmer for 3-4 minutes. It would have thickened. Add broccoli and mix it well with sauce. Simmer for a minute and switch off
  5. Garnish with spring onion.Serve hot with Hakka noodles or fried rice
